Idlemon Arena Dev notes

dreamgategaming

Finally I have some good news on the Idlemon Arena front!

I finished all 60 Idlemon that will be in the base game, at least on the actors and classes. Still have to port over the stats and enemies of the last 11 newest Idlemon into the enemies so they are able to be fought and captured. I also added EVERY ultimate that each Idlemon has. This was no easy task. Each Idlemon has a unique ultimate and this was rather time consuming, but I am pleased with the results. Also I added the games first S, SS and SSS ranked mon. I’m actually working on deploying this game to itch now so I can Iframe it to L8 knight gaming. I’m going to list off all the new stuff that was added here:

  1. four new maps to adventure through at the crystals.
  2. four new arenas to test your strength at.
  3. all 60 idlemon completed, including ultimates.
  4. new battle feature, dtb. Now you will see in the top right corner the order in which the turn will take place.
  5. Barrier system. Some Idlemon will have moves that generate a barrier, which is additional hp on top of their normal hp bar. This includes many options for so much more strategy!
  6. lifesteal revamp. Instead of just using Hp drain from rpg maker I now use yanflys plugin for lifesteal. This allows me to add not only passive lifesteal, but I can have mp lifesteal, and also do both on just one move! So many cool moves coming up. 🙂
  7. Multielement system. By default in rpgmaker the element system only allows attacks to use a single element. With the yanfly multielement system I can now set a move to have multiple elements on it. When calculating with resistance it uses the average % of resistance.
  8. Added hidden features that I’m obviously not going to explain right here. 😛

Thanks all for playing and following the demo. I really think that if I keep striving I can make this game really amazing!

Finally hit hunter rank 50. Time to give my thoughts on this.

Monster hunter Rise is an action packed monster fighting game that can be played with friends. I will say however that most of my friends that don’t get to play with someone have severely fell behind in comparison to me and my girlfriends progress. In rise you have town quests that you do solo, and Hub quests that you do usually with a friend. (though they can be done solo, it would just be much harder)

  1. How is the combat? My answer: Good. I really enjoy the mechanics to most weapons in rise, and the combat feels pretty clean with one major exception.. Some of the hitboxes are VERY questionable. You could be at the top of an insect glaive flying attack, and a monster swinging his tail on the ground will knock you over and out of your combo. Hopefully as the game progresses they will fix more and more of these issues, but I’m not holding my breath.
  2. How are the graphics? My answer: Meh. I understand that the switch doesn’t have the same capabilities that the ps4 has, but I feel that the maps of Rise are pretty unimpressive in comparison to their other game Monster Hunter World. This sort of feels like they took a step backwards in graphics, which would have been fine if they added a lot more content or something.. But they didn’t.
  3. Is it fun? My answer: Yes. Though the graphics aren’t as impressive, and some of the hitboxes are pretty questionable I would still say this is a pretty great game. I felt like progression was fast enough and storyline was decent enough to keep me playing. It doesn’t have the same amount of end game content as world, but who knows this might change down the line. Overall I give Monster Hunter Rise a 7/10. If they correct the hitboxes and give some more late game content, this would be a better score. Still worth buying it if you have a friend to play with.

Alright, so I have finally hit level 20 in pokemon unite last night on switch. I wanted to give a comprehensive review on my experience thus far with this new free to play moba experience from TenCent.

  1. Is Pokemon unite pay to win? My answer: No. Over the course of the last month playing this game I already have 3 level 20 Items(Items max at level 30) and even though people can pay to max these items out and have a stat advantage, it does not make the game impossible for someone who hasn’t payed to be competitive. In my opinion since you earn the currency used to purchase the Item Enhancers from the shop daily and frequently. I can tell you it is not pay to win.
  2. Is the game balanced? My answer: No. Some pokemon, Zeraora for example, have VERY unfair tactics that make it so other pokemon with none of those skills are just left to get destroyed. The reason I call out zeraora specifically is because that is one of the pokemon I main using. He has a move called spark that is a dash with 3 activates. Meaning I can either run away or engage whenever I please. Another to add to this list is Gengar, his hex move if activated on a status afflicted pokemon, can be activated again and again until they either get KO’d or are no longer under a status.
  3. What is my biggest complaint? My answer: I CAN’T SEE THE SCORE DURING THE GAME. Imagine playing a game of basketball, on a court 8x the size, With multiple baskets and balls and NO SCOREBOARD. In my opinion not showing the score until the very end of the game is idiotic, it takes away the last minute comeback attempts in my book. I assume the reasoning for this is that if they showed the score and a team was down 300 they would just surrender.. But why not let them surrender? I don’t really get the logic for this.
  4. Is it fun? My answer: Yes. Even though some balancing issues and players being able to pay to get a stat advantage, that advantage doesn’t last forever. Also though some pokemon are unbalanced you can still win a match with strategic game play.
  5. Okay Esh so what do you rate Pokemon Unite? My answer: I give it a 6.5/10. They need to balance the gameplay, and add a running scoreboard and if they did they would have a really awesome game on their hands. I wish they just would have had the monitization done with skins like 90% of other mobas they’ve made, but the items don’t make me feel like I’m behind or anything. Overall worth playing, but I’m not going to care much if I miss a daily or anything.

Hey L8 Knight Gamers, last night I added Finders Keepers to the site! Though it is a really simple puzzle game I’m glad to have it join us here! I’m working on Idlemon Arena Final touches before I get that demo added here to be played! I’m still trying to get adsense to approve ads on here so I can have some revenue to keep the site alive. Have fun and I will keep you all posted on how uploading goes later today.
